2007-08 Humphrey Fellows arrive at MSU

For the sixth year, participants in the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program arrived on campus for a year of intensive graduate-level study and related professional experience.

MSU is now in its second five-year term as a host institution in the thematic area of economic development, one of only two institutions nationwide with that focus.


Currently, 15 U.S. universities participate in this Fulbright-related program, which brings professionals from countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America.


“MSU is delighted to continue as a Humphrey program host institution, adding midcareer international professionals to the diverse mix of international students, faculty and scholars already on our campus,” said Jeffrey Riedinger, dean of International Studies and Programs and coordinator of the program.


“Building international understanding is increasingly important in the current political and economic climate. Hosting the Humphrey fellows fosters mutual understanding, not only between the United States and other nations, but also among the nations represented by these visitors, as they spend the year together.”
