Since 1996, Heil has served as associate vice president and director of University Development. She also has served as co-director of The Campaign for MSU, a record-breaking fundraising effort that raised $1.4 billion.

“We are most fortunate to have Marti’s proven and highly regarded commitment, expertise and experience to call upon during this transition period,” said President Lou Anna K. Simon.

Heil has also served MSU as senior director of development for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and MSU Extension (1989-1996).

Charles Webb, MSU’s vice president for development for 13 years, will assume the presidency of Spring Arbor University in June.

A formal search process for a permanent vice president is being developed, Simon said.
