Founders' Day address looks to meet needs

Winter's blast returns to campus

Snow blankets rocks in the Red Cedar River on a wintry morning. Cold weather and snow returned to campus last week after some unseasonably warm days in January.

In her second Founders’ Day address, Lou Anna K. Simon is expected to encourage members of the Michigan State community to try to “see around the corner” and anticipate the needs of tomorrow, while continuing to address the challenges of today. (Full Story)

Annual Awards Convocation to honor 30

Ten faculty members will receive a Distinguished Faculty Award during the Awards Convocation today, bringing to 428 the number of faculty honored since the award was established in 1952.

Biomass and bioeconomy are words that have been percolating around MSU for a few months, and they have come to the forefront statewide and nationally in recent weeks in the discussion of alternative energy. (Full Story)

Agriculture, food system study shows industry growth

Michigan’s economy is facing many challenges, including recent news about factory closings and layoffs among automotive industries and others. But there is some good news in one key sector, according to an analysis by economists with the MSU Product Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
