Deaths

Marian Adams, 92, retired clerk, Brody Complex, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died March 16. Adams joined the staff in 1951 and retired in 1972.

Helen Anderson, 87, retired laundry control checker, Laundry, of Lansing died April 22. Anderson joined the staff in 1959 and retired in 1979.

Margaret Blackman, 80, retired editor, MSU Press, of Okemos died April 26. Blackman joined the staff in 1970 and retired in 1988. Her husband, Charles, survives.

Robert Bullard, 75, retired sales manager, The State News, of Lansing died April 4. Bullard joined the staff in 1964 and retired in 1994. His wife, Shirley, survives.

Jacob Climo, 57, professor of anthropology, of East Lansing died April 22. Climo joined the faculty in 1974. His wife, Martha, survives.

Nicholas Fiel, 73, professor emeritus of family and community medicine, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., died April 16. Fiel joined the faculty in 1965 and retired in 1997. His wife, Christine, survives.

Earlene Johnson, 73, retired custodian, Custodial Services, of Lansing died April 27. Johnson joined the staff in 1956 and retired in 1991. Her husband, James, survives.

Theodore Johnson, 73, professor of music, of East Lansing died April 21. Johnson joined the faculty in 1964. His wife, Carol, survives.

Alvin Kabelitz, 76, retired equipment operator, Grounds Maintenance, of DeWitt died April 11. Kabelitz joined the staff in 1956 and retired in 1990.

Tim McConkey, 55, food supervisor, Holden Hall cafeteria, of Mason died March 27. McConkey, who had been on long-term disability, joined the staff in 1975.

Marjorie Ryder, 81, retired office assistant, International Studies and Programs, of Dimondale died April 7. Ryder joined the staff in 1965 and retired in 1984.
