'U', hospitals work to make better doctors

MSU and the Lansing area’s two health-care systems – Ingham Regional Medical Center and Sparrow Health System – are coming together to enhance graduate medical education, a collaboration whose ultimate goal is to build a better and more compassionate doctor who can communicate with his or her patients. In response to complaints by some East Lansing residents about the unruly behavior of college-age students living in the city, President Lou Anna K. Governor's Return to Learn campaign at 'U'
There are 1.5 million Michigan residents who have attended college but never completed their degrees. Gov. Jennifer Granholm has declared November Return to Learn Month in Michigan to encourage some of these people to take the steps

MSU to present 'The Life'
To prepare for directing MSU’s upcoming production of “The Life,” an adult musical depicting the seedy life of prostitutes and pimps in New York City’s Times Square, Rob Roznowski did research on the “world’s oldest profession” by traveling to New York in August and observing firsthand how prostitutes and pimps carry on their business. Nobel Prize winner began academic research at MSU
Robert Grubbs, a co-recipient of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, began his academic career as a faculty member in the MSU Department of Chemistry. (Full Story)
