Mary Clearing-Sky, director of the Counseling Center, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors.

Piotr Piecuch, assistant professor of chemistry, was awarded a $110,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing program.
