The McPherson years: from vision to action
As Peter McPherson approaches the end of his tenure as president of MSU, the campus community will celebrate and honor his 11 years of service and leadership at the university. A reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 5 in the Big Ten Room at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. The reception is open to all of the MSU community. McPherson also will be honored by university officials, the MSU Board of Trustees and supporters of MSU at a private dinner hosted by University Development on Nov. 12. McPherson will step down Jan. 1. His departure will mark the end of the longest-serving president-provost team in the Big Ten. Provost Lou Anna K. Simon will serve as MSU’s 20th president.
